The AAF has announced earlier today that their QB Draft labeled as the Protect or Pick Draft will be hosted live via CBS Sports and take place at the new Esports Arena Las Vegas at The Luxor on November 27, 2018 8pm ET/5pm PT.
The Alliance is purposing a unique spin with their Protect or Pick draft format, which will consist of four rounds and allow each team to either protect a QB meaning they are using their draft pick to keep a certain player on their current roster that was allocated via the player’s region. Alternatively, they can instead opt to pick, in which case they then wait till all other teams have elected their options to pick/protect, and via the draft order, they will be able to select a player from the pool of non protected QBs from any region.
Just ahead of the draft through November 12-14, the Alamo Dome will be host to the QB skills camp. The camp will give personnel groups from all Alliance teams a chance to better evaluate each QB before the draft.
I can’t imagine the Commanders not using their first protect option on QB Trevor Knight, but it will be interesting to see if they make moves on any players out of their current region.
